OpenAI: A post on Tuesday by OpenAI Chief Executive Officer Sam Altman stated that the company is pausing new sign-ups for its premium ChatGPT Plus service because of excessive demand. Read on to learn more.

“We are pausing new ChatGPT Plus sign-ups for a bit. the surge in usage post devday has exceeded our capacity and we want to make sure everyone has a great experience. You can still sign-up to be notified within the app when subs reopen,” Altman wrote on X.

The launch of Generative Pre-trained Transformers (GPTs) at OpenAI's DevDay 2023 is responsible for the current spike in demand. GPTs' power has been utilised by businesses and developers for a variety of tasks, including graphic design on websites like Canva. More than 5,000 GPTs are presently available as a result of the conference's introduction of GPTs, which enable users to quickly and simply construct their own models without the need for coding.
