Anupamaa Star Rupali Ganguly Slams ‘Confused Loyalty’ Of Diljit Dosanjh, Hails Border 2 Makers For Removal Without Fact Check

Anupamaa star Rupali Ganguly has joined the backlash against Diljit Dosanjh after reports surfaced about his casting of Pakistani actress Hania Aamir in Sardaar Ji 3. Amid ongoing tensions between India and Pakistan, many social media users and celebrities have criticised Diljit for the move.

Rupali didn’t name Diljit directly but clearly referred to the Border 2 controversy in her recent post on X (formerly Twitter). She expressed disappointment over an actor being part of a patriotic film while lacking a sense of national duty.

Rupali praised the makers of Border 2 for allegedly removing the actor from the film. She said such a film should reflect patriotism in every way and can’t afford “confused loyalties.” Even though there’s no confirmation yet, she applauded what she saw as a bold move.

Social media users quickly picked up on her post and linked it to Diljit, especially as rumours of his exit from Border 2 have been gaining momentum.

No Official Word On Exit Of Diljit Dosanjh From Border 2

Despite the buzz online, there’s no confirmation that Diljit Dosanjh has been dropped. A source close to the film told Hindustan Times that the actor is still very much part of the project. He was cast nearly nine months ago, and half the film has already been shot. Replacing him now would reportedly be tough and unlikely.

So for now, Diljit remains attached to the film, and no replacement (like the widely rumoured Ammy Virk) has been confirmed.

Border 2 is the sequel to the 1997 war film Border, known for its patriotic theme. The new film stars Sunny Deol, Varun Dhawan, and Ahan Shetty in key roles. It’s directed by Anurag Singh and produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, JP Dutta, and Nidhi Dutta.

Diljit’s involvement was confirmed last year, and fans were excited to see him in the lineup. But now, thanks to the controversy surrounding Sardaar Ji 3, the off-screen drama has taken centre stage.
