South Korean actress Lee Seo Yi, best known for her role in The Divorce Insurance, passed away on June 20 at the age of 43. The news of her death was made public nearly two weeks later, with a heartfelt post from her manager shared on her official Instagram handle.

The late actress’s manager, Song Seo-bin, wrote, “A radiant, beautiful, lovely, and kind unnie became a star in the sky on June 20.” 

He added, “I know many of you must be shocked and deeply saddened by the news of her passing, but I kindly ask that you pray so that she may go to a good and beautiful place.”

The announcement stunned fans who had no clue about her passing until this week. While the cause of death has not been revealed, the manager mentioned that Lee Seo Yi has already been laid to rest in a private ceremony. The location of her burial has not been disclosed.

On the big screen, she appeared in films such as The King, Scarlet Innocence, Killing Romance, and The Royal Traitor. Her final project, The Divorce Insurance, aired between March and May 2025 and received positive reviews.

Aside from acting, Lee was well-educated, holding a degree in Czech and Slovak studies from Hankuk University of Foreign Studies. She later studied at Pusan National University. Lee often shared glimpses of her life on social media, where she stayed connected with her fans.
