While speaking to journalists in Begusarai, Pappu Yadav questioned Dhirendra Shastri’s claim about 60 crore people attending Maha Kumbh 2025. He said, "India’s population is 140 crore. Out of this, around 23 to 24 crore people follow Jainism, Islam, Buddhism, Sikhism, and Ambedkarite ideology. The remaining 84 crore people struggle even for five kilograms of food because of their poor economic conditions. They don’t have money."
