The remarks, perceived as offensive by many, led to nationwide protests in Delhi, Maharashtra, Bihar, and Tamil Nadu.

In response, Amit Shah accused Congress of circulating an edited video to misrepresent his statement. He firmly dismissed demands for his resignation and claimed that Congress would remain in opposition for years to come, regardless of his position.

Prakash Ambedkar’s Strong Reaction

Prakash Ambedkar, the grandson of Dr. BR Ambedkar, joined the fray with sharp criticism of Amit Shah. Taking to X (formerly Twitter), he announced a protest organized by the Vanchit Bahujan Aghadi at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CST), Mumbai.

He wrote, "On behalf of the Vanchit Bahujan Aghadi, a protest will be held at CST against the anti-Baba Saheb Ambedkar act by Home Minister Amit Shah. I will be present. Tomorrow at 2 pm. Everyone should be present."

He also expressed gratitude to TMC MP Derek O’Brien for filing a privilege notice against Shah, stating, “Derogatory remarks against Babasaheb will not be tolerated. The battle against the anti-Ambedkar mindset will be fought from the streets to the Parliament.”

Lalu Prasad Yadav’s Fiery Statement

RJD leader Lalu Prasad Yadav added fuel to the fire by condemning Amit Shah’s comments.

Speaking to ANI, he remarked, "Amit Shah has gone mad. He must have hatred for Babasaheb Ambedkar. We condemn this madness. Babasaheb Ambedkar is great. Shah should renounce politics and leave."

Lalu’s statement has sparked sharp reactions from BJP supporters and further intensified the opposition’s protests against Shah.

BJP MP Pratap Chandra Sarangi Accuses Rahul Gandhi of Causing Him Injury During Parliament Protest

A dramatic incident unfolded in Parliament on Thursday when BJP MP Pratap Chandra Sarangi accused Congress leader Rahul Gandhi of causing an MP to fall on him, resulting in a head injury. Sarangi claimed, “Rahul Gandhi pushed another MP, who then fell on me, causing me to injure my head.”

Rahul Gandhi, however, denied the allegations, stating that BJP MPs tried to block him and other opposition leaders from entering Parliament. "They are attacking the Constitution and disrespecting Dr. Ambedkar’s legacy. We will not stop protesting," he asserted.
