Shared on X (formerly Twitter) by the handle @RTEUrdu on April 12, the video has been viewed by lakhs of users and even prompted a strong reaction from PETA India.

Suddenly, a man appears beside it, pretending to stand casually — and then brutally kicks the monkey, sending it tumbling down a cliff. Shockingly, this cruel act was recorded by one of his friends. After the act, the man casually walks away, pretending as if nothing happened.

Mountain Backdrop Hints at Himachal or Uttarakhand, Says Grok

One user asked Grok AI about the location of the viral video, to which Grok responded: "The incident likely occurred in India, probably in Himachal Pradesh or Uttarakhand. The video shows a foggy, mountainous area with guardrails, typical of these northern states."

It further added, "Social media discussions and the setting suggest these locations, known for human-monkey conflicts. Exact confirmation is unclear, but evidence points to this region."

However, several users in the comment section suggested that the incident took place outside India, likely in Pakistan.

Public Outrage Grows; PETA India Urges Action Against Animal Cruelty

The viral monkey video has sparked strong reactions. PETA India responded swiftly, urging people to contact their emergency helpline (9820122602) with any information about the man and location so local resources can be mobilised. Several users expressed anger at the cruelty, with one saying, “You became a Muslim by wearing a cap, when will you become a human being?” while another commented, “The problem is with the upbringing – no values, no ethics being taught.”
