Instagram influencer and psychologist Divija Bhasin has landed in controversy after her viral video triggered what many are calling the “R***i Revolution.” The clip (which has now crossed 5.7 million views) has divided the internet and raised serious concerns among netizens.

Divija Bhasin Trolled For Her Viral Video

Known for speaking about mental health and women’s issues, Bhasin posted a video where she discussed how the word “R***i” (often used as a derogatory slur for women) has lost its power to hurt her. She said, “Men called me that word every single day in my comment section. I am a proud Rai. Rai supremacy.”

In her video, Bhasin urged women to reclaim the insult and turn it into a symbol of strength. She encouraged followers to use the hashtag #ProudR*i as part of their identity. Many women (including minors) began adding the tag to their social media bios, sparking a wave of reactions online.

The video quickly spread across platforms, amassing 127K views in three days on YouTube and turning into one of the most debated viral trends of the month.

Online Users Slam The Influencer

While some saw it as a form of empowerment, the majority of users criticised the movement as “misguided” and “dangerous.” Many accused Bhasin of normalising abuse instead of addressing it. Several comments demanded that she seek therapy herself for allegedly promoting harmful messages to young audiences.

A user even compared her to Apoorva Mukhija (also known as The Rebel Kid), who is known for her controversial and unapologetic social media persona.

“She is giving tough competition to the rebel kid.”

“This woman is a Psychologist? I think we need to check our education system.”

“She should be behind bars for influencing minors. This is beyond disgusting.”

“This ain’t feminism anymore.”

“Premanand & Aniruddha Charya Was Right.”

“Stop it …. What kind of solution is this?? You seriously need a therapy.”

“You know the meaning, and accepting it! It’s actually validating what they say! That’s not strength or healing that’s weak feminism. You are not standing up for urself, you are bending to fit into what they labelled you as, you are normalising it so it doesn’t hurt u, duh!!! That’s even worse! You need a therapist.”

The controversy took a serious turn when an X (formerly Twitter) user named Anubhav Gupta filed a complaint with the Uttar Pradesh Police. He accused Bhasin of “influencing minors to use obscene language” and “promoting behaviour that may fall under offences listed in the POCSO Act.”

As of now, Bhasin hasn’t issued an official statement about the complaint, but the backlash continues to grow across platforms.
