A shocking video from Chaudhary Charan Singh University’s KP Boys Hostel in Meerut, UP, has rocked the campus. The clip shows Warden DK Chauhan hitting four students with a stick and slapping them late at night.
This violent act has caused outrage among students, who are now staging a large sit-in demanding the warden’s immediate removal.
The violence began after Chauhan found water spilled in the corridor and students sharing rooms late at night. The incident was recorded and quickly went viral on social media, sparking widespread anger.
A user shared the video that has now went viral.

Social media users quickly reacted. One asked, “Uttar Pradesh ki police soi hui hai kya? Social media par jab tak koi ghatna samne nahi aati hai tab tak kanoon apne neend mein madmast kyun rehta hai. Yeh to ghatna ke baad bhi koi karyawahi nahi ki gayi hai.” Many criticised the slow response from officials.
Others shared their own experiences. A user wrote, “Sarkari colleges me 95% wardens aise hi milenge, haath chhor dete hain sidha bina kuch jaane pooche. Mujhe BTech pass kiye 9 saal ho gaye par ye video dekh ke ek MC warden yaad aa gaya.”
Not all blamed the warden. Some questioned the students’ behaviour. One said, “The other side of the story....???... Aajkal ke students bhi kam nahi hain.” Still, many condemned the violence.
One user simply posted, “Shame on this.”
Another tweeted, “Isko kisne adhikar diya aise maarne ka? Isko hamesha ke liye hata dena chahiye aur uski police complaint honi chahiye.”
Calls for action grow louder after the Meerut University warden was seen beating students in the viral video. Student protesters demand justice as soon a possible. Many called for a police complaint and permanent removal of Chauhan.
Students say this is not the first time Chauhan has used physical punishment. They claim he often mistreats residents and punishes them without reason. This ongoing behaviour has pushed students to protest more fiercely.
The university administration has stayed silent so far. Their lack of response has only increased student anger and demands for the warden’s removal.
