Elon Musk : The modern-day protagonist of free speech, threatens to sue Twitter employees over this reason

Elon Musk reportedly threatened Twitter staff who disclose sensitive confidential information to the media after he agreed to reveal internal texts from staff to particular pundits.

Musk threatens employees who leak info to the Media

Elon Musk, who has repeatedly endorsed free speech absolutism and asserted “transparency is the key to trust” and that “sunlight is the best disinfectant” has ordered staff to sign a document acknowledging the warning.

A message given by Musk to twitter employees, states that some of the employees in the company had deliberately violated the Non-Disclosure Agreement which was signed by them and will have to accept liability to the law to its full extent.

He also gave a grim warning and stated that “breaking your word by sending detailed info to media… will receive the response it deserves.

The conservatives who are resisting the changes which are taking place in Twitter, have described ‘Twitter files’ contain selective emails and internal messages about how the company has approached content moderation and accounts that violate the company’s terms of service.

Conservatives have added that although asserting that the business plotted to suppress right-wing accounts for political gain, the tweets lack important context. Instead, they have demonstrated the problem they purport to oppose—the weaponization of social media platforms for partisan purposes—while outlining what the firm has long made clear about its moderation rules in public.

They also appear to adhere to Musk’s own stated policy objectives, which are “freedom of speech, not freedom of reach,” as he told a select group of writers who trickled out some of their findings over the course of the previous week on Twitter.

Twitter enforcement policy focuses on “Deamplication of Violative Material; Freedom of Speech, But Not Freedom of Reach”

The company released a statement on November 30 stating that “none of its policies have changed; however, that its policy enforcement focuses on the “deamplification of violative material; freedom of speech, but not the freedom of reach.”

However, two women who lost their jobs at Twitter have filed a new lawsuit against Musk, claiming that the firm unfairly targeted women workers when he lay off hundreds of people.

According to the lawsuit submitted to the US District Court in San Francisco, Twitter let go 57% of its female employees compared to 47% of its male employees.

It also alleges that the disparity is more severe in engineering roles, where 63 per cent of women lost their jobs compared to 48 percent of men.

Additionally, it claims that the gap is particularly pronounced in engineering department, where 63% of women lost their jobs versus 48% of males.

The lawsuit accuses the company of violating federal and state laws against sex based discrimination in the workplace.
