5 killed in IED blast on Pakistani military convoy in Balochistan’s Turbat

IED blast: IED attack on a Pakistani military convoy left five personnel killed and four others injured in Balochistan’s Turbat. Pakistani forces suffered casualties when unknown people detonated an IED on a vehicle in the Dannuk area of Turbat, the main city of Kech.

The Balochistan Liberation Front has claimed the responsibility of targeting a Pakistani military convoy in an IED attack in the Dannuk area, Turbat, Kech district. The incident happened on Monday afternoon at around 3.40 pm.

Remote control bomb attack

Reports said Sarmachaars of Balochistan Liberation Front attacked the occupying forces. The convoy was leaving the main camp at Turbat when a remote control bomb hit them. The convoy was heading towards D-Baloch.

In the bomb attack, the front part of the vehicle was completely destroyed and five personnel in the vehicle were killed and four were injured. After the attack, the defeated forces opened fire on the civil population.

“Balochs are proud of being martyred in defense of Balochistan and we do not hide it from anyone because we know that we are fighting for truth and justice. These attacks will continue until the independence of Balochistan,” Major Ghoram Baloch, Spokesman of Balochistan Liberation Front said in a statement.

Nine cops killed

On Monday, nine security officers were killed and at least 13 others were wounded during a suicide attack in southwest Pakistan.

The blast happened in Balochistan province when the officers were returning to the provincial capital Quetta after policing a festival. According to spokesman Mehmood Khan Notizai, the attack took place in Sibi, a city some 160 km (100 miles) east of Quetta, the capital of Balochistan province.
