The command said the strikes followed more than 30 drone attacks directed by Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps over the previous three days, adding that attempts to hit US forces had failed.
Saudi Arabia Confirms First Direct Role Inside Iraq
Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Defence confirmed its participation, calling it an exercise of its right to self-defence. Saudi officials said their forces had also intercepted drones aimed at oil facilities near Riyadh and in the Eastern Province, adding the Kingdom reserves
“the right to respond at the appropriate time and place.”
This marks the first time Riyadh has claimed responsibility for strikes inside Iraq since the US-Iran war began, signalling a shift toward direct Saudi military engagement.
