A case of misbehavior with a cancer patient going from Delhi to New York in an American Airlines flight has come to light. The woman had recently undergone surgery. The airline offloaded the woman, accusing her of not following the crew’s guidelines. At the same time, the woman says that she had a very heavy bag, which she sought help from the cabin crew to keep in the overhead cabin. The woman says that neither the crew helped her and asked her to get off the flight. The complainant was on a wheelchair.
The woman filed a complaint
Meenakshi Sengupta, who lives in the US, has filed a complaint against American Airlines. She said that he had a bag weighing more than 5 pounds, which he sought help from the cabin crew to lift, but the staff refused to help him. At the same time, the daughter of the complainant has posted a post on social media tagging American Airlines, in which she has given information about the incident.
Cabin crew refused to help
In her complaint, Sengupta said, “the ground staff was very helpful and helped me board the plane and put my handbag on the side of the seat. Once inside the flight, I had a chat with the air hostess and told her about my health condition. When the plane was about to depart, a flight attendant asked me to put the bag in the overhead bin. The staff refused to help saying it is not my job. After repeated requests for help, the cabin crew allegedly told her that she would be taken off the plane and the captain did not help either. The crew member repeatedly asked me to pick up the bag. He said that it was not his job to help the passengers.”
Sengupta said, “The flight attendant told me that I would be thrown out. I had a cast from shoulder to arm. It was a humiliating experience. I booked a ticket on another airline to Atlanta and from there traveled by road to Charlotte.”
