Donald Trump: United States President Donald Trump has shared an image on social platform Truth Social showing Venezuela, Canada and Greenland as parts of the United States of America. US forces recently forcibly captured Nicolas Maduro, the President of Venezuela. Trump then asked Denmark to hand Greenland to him as it is required as a strategic measure.
Trump recently remarked that Denmark that presently owns Greenland cannot protect it. The US President also commented that USA requires Greenland so Russia or China does not take it down. Meanwhile, Russia and China have raised strong objections to the claims of Trump. Beijing remarked Trump should stop using the so-called Chinese threat as a pretext to pursue its own selfish interests.
US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent justified the demand of Greenland by President Trump. Bessent remarked the fight by Trump for the Arctic is real.
The US Treasury Secretary added USA would get dragged in if there is an attack on Greenland from Russia.

Defiance To Greenland Obsession of Donald Trump
Dame Emily Thornberry, the chair of the UK Commons Foreign Affairs Committee, has remarked that US allies must stay calm over the threats issued by Trump. France’s Finance Minister Roland Lescure has blasted Trump’s tariff antics saying a friend of 250 years is now blackmailing us using tariffs as a geopolitical weapon. Germany’s Finance Minister Lars Klingbeil remarked Trump has crossed a line and Europe must be prepared.
Darren Jones, the Chief Secretary to UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer, said the tariff threats of Trump are being taken “seriously”.
Alberta Surrenders
State-wide rallies have been held In Canada by the group Stay Free Alberta to pass a petition urging for a referendum on becoming an independent state. The group has until May 2, 2026, to collect 178,000 signatures.
Trump may utilize this opportunity to jump into the campaign by making mischief to claim that the vote is not fair and take over Alberta as the 51st state of USA. The US President may claim as he has done with Denmark’s Greenland that the incorporation of Alberta into the United States is strategically required.
Italy and Poland Go Soft: Is the EU Headed for Breakdown?
Italian PM Giorgia Meloni, once a pragmatic EU player, echoes the border hawkishness of Donald Trump, praising the “America First” model and delaying EU migration pacts. Meanwhile, Poland’s new nationalist leadership slams Brussels’ Green Deal and centralization as a “fading star,” aligning with Trump’s fossil fuel revival and rejecting Mercosur trade.
Warsaw’s President Nawrocki rails against EU overreach, from migration quotas to climate mandates, channeling Orban-style skepticism.
Hungary’s Orban, Austria’s rightward tilt, and now Italy-Poland’s wobble threaten EU disintegration. The playbook of Trump – divide, entice, threat and dominate – exploits fiscal woes and populist surges.
