Pakistan has long been a breeding ground for terrorists, but recent events suggest that their so-called safe zones are no longer as secure. One after another, high-profile terrorists are being eliminated by unknown gunmen, sending shockwaves through the Pakistani government. The seeds of terror sown by Pakistan are now being uprooted, leaving its top leadership visibly shaken.

Hafiz Saeed and Abu Qatal Targeted During Ramadan

Early this morning, a dramatic assassination took place as people were preparing for Sehri (pre-dawn meal) during the holy month of Ramadan. India’s most wanted Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) terrorist, Abu Qatal, was gunned down in Pakistan. Reports suggest that Hafiz Saeed was also present with him at the time of the attack, raising questions about whether he was also a target.

Shortly after the attack, Pakistani media erupted with breaking news, sending ripples through the Shehbaz Sharif-led government. The headlines made it clear—terrorists once shielded by Pakistan are now being eliminated by unknown gunmen before they can even act.

Lashkar-e-Taiba Terrorist Abu Qatal Killed by Unknown Gunmen

According to reports, Abu Qatal was shot dead in Jhelum, Pakistan, by unknown gunmen on Saturday evening. The Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorist was responsible for multiple attacks in India and had been under the radar of intelligence agencies. The National Investigation Agency (NIA) had filed a charge sheet against him for orchestrating deadly assaults, including recent strikes in Jammu and Kashmir.

Sources indicate that the attackers ambushed Abu Qatal, eliminating him instantly. His killing adds to the growing list of terrorists who have mysteriously been taken down in Pakistan.

Is Hafiz Saeed Dead? Mystery Deepens

As news of Abu Qatal’s assassination spread, senior journalist Smita Prakash raised a crucial question on X (formerly Twitter), "Is Hafiz Saeed of JuD dead? Unknown gunmen seemed to have finally got him"

Hafiz Saeed, the mastermind behind the 26/11 Mumbai attacks that killed over 160 people and injured more than 200, has long been a key figure in Pakistan’s terror network. If reports suggesting his presence at the scene of Abu Qatal’s killing are accurate, his fate remains uncertain.

Abu Qatal’s Role in Jammu and Kashmir Attacks

Abu Qatal had a notorious track record of orchestrating attacks in Jammu and Kashmir. He was the mastermind behind the June 9 attack in Reasi, where terrorists ambushed a bus carrying pilgrims from the Shiv Khori temple. His involvement extended to the 2023 Rajouri attack and several other terror incidents in the region, making him a top target for intelligence agencies.

List of Pakistani Terrorists Killed Recently

The pattern of terrorists being assassinated by unknown gunmen in Pakistan has been intensifying. Over the past few years, more than two dozen terrorists have met the same fate. Some of the key eliminations include:

  • October 11, 2023: Dawood Malik and Shahid Latif were killed.
  • September 29, 2023: Muhammad Riaz and Zia-ur-Rehman were eliminated.
  • September 21, 2023: Khalistani terrorist SukhduI Singh was shot dead.
  • September 8, 2023: Abu Qasim Kashmiri was killed by unknown assailants.
  • August 1, 2023: Sardar Hussain Arain was assassinated.
  • March 4, 2023: Syed Noor Shalobar was eliminated.
  • February 20, 2023: Bashir Ahmad Pir was attacked and killed.
  • February 27, 2023: Syed Khalid Raza’s killing was confirmed by Pakistani media.
  • February 14, 2023: News surfaced of Ayaz Ahmad Ahangar’s assassination.
  • March 1, 2022: Zahoor Mistry’s assassination made headlines.

The latest killing of Abu Qatal suggests that this trend is far from over. Speculations are rife that Hafiz Saeed, his uncle and mentor, might have also been targeted by unknown gunmen.
