Iran US Tensions: The United States Secretary of State Marco Rubio has remarked that Iran has been designated as a state sponsor of wrongful detention. The new blacklist could eventually lead to a travel ban.
Ayatollah Khamenei has not gone down to the demands of Trump and seems adamant on initiating the nuclear program that could create regional instability in the Middle East.
Iran US Tensions-Comments By Marco Rubio
In a statement, Rubio remarked that the Ayatollah Ali Khamenei regime should take immediate steps to release all American people who have been detained unjustly in the Islamic Republic of Iran.
Rubio added that Iran should stop taking hostages. The United States Secretary of State added that the designation of Iran as a state sponsor of wrongful detention would only be removed after these steps are taken.
DON'T MISS
After the announcement by Rubio, a statement was issued by the Federal Bureau of Investigation on X. The FBI wrote that the United States has designated the Islamic Republic of Iran as a State Sponsor of Wrongful Detention. It added that the Federal Bureau of Investigation remains committed to working with our federal and international partners to return Americans who are being held captive home and bring their captors to justice.
Stop Making Public Comments- Middle East Ambassadors Told
Marco Rubio also asked all Middle East ambassadors to stop making comments publicly that could undermine pressure by Donald Trump and inflame tensions. Rubio added that the Chiefs of Mission and embassies at addressee posts should maintain strict discipline in public messaging.
Rubio’s comment was possibly guided at Mike Huckabee, the US ambassador to Israel, who recently remarked that Israel had the biblical right to much of the Middle East land.
It is widely believed that US President Donald Trump is not happy with Huckabee for interfering with US Iran negotiations. Interestingly, the daughter of Huckabee had refused to endorse Trump in the last presidential campaign.
