Iran-US Tensions: Donald Trump Emphasizes On Peace Talks
United States President Donald Trump remarked that he would prefer to solve the political and other confrontation with the Islamic Republic of Iran via diplomacy instead of observing a high-handedness approach with military strength. Trump also commented that Iran could not have any form of nuclear weaponry as it is the world’s number one sponsor of terrorism.
Trump’s speech came amid a possible war between Iran and the United States that has been looming for quite some time now. Washington and Tehran are likely to hold one more round of talks in Geneva on February 26 over the nuclear deal. The address of Donald Trump came as two US aircraft carriers, USS Gerald Ford and USS Abraham Lincoln, have been dispatched by the United States to the Middle East.
Comments By US Secretary Of War
Pete Hegseth, the US secretary of war, has remarked that he would appreciate if the Ayatollah Ali Khamenei regime signs a deal with the United States because otherwise they would face serious consequences. Hegseth also remarked that Iran would be making a wise deal by signing a deal as that’s the result preferred by the United States President Donald Trump.
Rubio added that the US-Iran talks in Geneva would be primarily focused on the Iran’s nuclear program. Rubio added that the conventional weapons of Iran pose a serious threat to the United States of America.
In another development, US Vice President JD Vance said that USA has sufficient evidence to conclude that the Islamic Republic of Iran is trying to build a nuclear program after strikes were made by the United States in June last year against nuclear facilities in Iran.
