This 6-year-old is elated after her mom loses job at Meta

Meta: A woman who lost her work at Meta said her kid was relieved to see her go. One of the 11,000 workers affected by the layoffs was Shelly Kalish. Her six-year-old daughter was relieved when her mother lost her work because they could now spend more time together. Most Meta employees admitted they were unaware of their reasons for termination.

Kalish’s story of termination at Meta

According to Business Insider, Kalish awoke at 6:30 am to see if she had gotten the letter of termination. Kalish said, “I checked my phone really quickly. It was a long email, but to be honest, I didn’t get past the first few sentences, because that’s where it had stated that I was part of the layoffs.”

“I kind of just like turned off my phone. I called my husband and he and my kids came in,” she said. “They kind of like jumped on me and gave me a hug,” she added. Later, Kalish informed her youngest daughter that she had lost her job. To which the daughter asked why they fired and her but later said that she was happy she could spend more time with her mother. “Yay! Now you can spend more time with me,” the daughter remarked.

Her daughter’s response to it caused her to look at the situation differently

Losing a career, according to Kalish, was difficult, but her daughter’s response to it caused her to view it differently. The six-year-old said, “I’m sorry you lost your job. You’re still the best mom.”
Mark Zuckerberg informed the staff at Meta that he is implementing numerous changes at the business in an email. Additionally, he expressed his sincere regret to the workers affected by the layoffs and accepted full responsibility. In addition to receiving severance money, Zuckerberg stated that the affected employees would receive all necessary support. “With no cap, we’ll pay 16 weeks of basic salary plus two more weeks for each year of service.” Additionally, he wrote in the letter that the business will pay for employees’ and their families’ medical expenses for a period of six months.

Aside from Meta, Twitter and Amazon have also sacked a significant number of workers. In the upcoming months, Amazon is anticipated to let go of 20,000 more employees.
