Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has called for faster delivery of weapons to Kyiv

Ukraine and its Western allies are holding ‘fast track’ talks on the possibility of providing long-range missiles and military aircraft to the war-torn country. A top official of the Office of the President of Ukraine said this on Saturday. Mikhailo Podolyak, an adviser to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, said that Ukraine’s supporters in the West “understand what is happening in the war in reality”, that they know that the aircraft capable of providing cover of armored fighting vehicles to Kyiv have been destroyed. How much is necessary to supply.

The US and Germany made the commitment earlier this month.

Show the real picture of the war

In a conversation with the online video channel Freedom, Podolyak acknowledged that some of Ukraine’s Western allies have maintained a “cautious” attitude regarding arms supplies to the war-torn country “due to fear of changes in the international situation”.

Russia and North Korea have accused the West of prolonging the war and playing a direct role in it by sending increasingly advanced weapons to Kyiv. “We need to work with them,” Podolyak said without naming any country. We should show the real picture of this war (to our allies).”

“We should speak up appropriately and tell them, for example, these things will reduce deaths, these things will reduce the burden on infrastructure,” he said. These things will reduce the security threats to the European continent, these things will keep the war on a local level. And we are doing that too. Ukraine wants to get these weapons as soon as possible.

Meanwhile, Russia has said that the Hymers rocket received by Ukraine from the US had attacked its occupied Novider. Russia claims that at least 14 people have died in this attack. Along with Russia, North Korea has also accused the western countries that because of them the war is unnecessarily dragging on.
