Netflix released the trailer for Inspector Zende on Monday, offering a first look at this quirky crime thriller. Starring Manoj Bajpayee and Jim Sarbh, the film mixes dark humour with suspense. The trailer shows Bhojraj escaping from Tihar Jail, prompting Mumbai Police to call in Inspector Madhukar Zende, the man who caught him 15 years ago (played by Manoj Bajpayee). The story follows Zende and his street-smart team chasing Bhojraj across Europe. Fans praised the trailer for its humour, performances, and the unique Mumbai vibe.

One viewer wrote, “Trailer looks interesting, hope it is not a delayed film being dumped on an OTT platform like Suniel Shetty and Randeep Hooda’s Operation Fryday was done on Zee5 few years back!”

Another said, “Jab bhi Manoj Vajpeyee ne Marathi character kiya film super hit huwa hai. This time Zende.”

A third user said, “Manoj Bajpayee ka jabardast wala comeback ho chuka hai with new topic and character as Inspector Zende.”

Talking about his role, Manoj Bajpayee said, “What fascinated me about Inspector Zende was that he wasn’t chasing glory, he was just doing his job, yet caught one of the most notorious criminals twice. His bravery, humour, and that unmistakable Mumbai flavour make his journey truly inspiring. Meeting him felt like stepping into a storybook, with a lifetime of tales to tell.”

More About The Film

Written and directed by Chinmay Mandlekar and produced by Jay Shewakramani and Om Raut, Inspector Zende is loosely inspired by true events. The story focuses on humour and quirky characters, making it more of a darkly comic thriller than a serious crime drama. The chemistry between Bajpayee and Jim Sarbh adds extra fun, with suspense balanced by playful cat-and-mouse moments.

The trailer also captures Mumbai’s essence, showing street-smart cops, local humour, and city charm. It gives the film a unique flavour compared to standard thrillers.

Inspector Zende will stream exclusively on Netflix from September 5.
