On the 75th birthday of Prime Minister Narendra Modi (PM Modi), a biopic on his life titled ‘Maa Vande’ has been announced. Malayalam star Unni Mukundan (who impressed audiences with the action thriller Marco) will play Modi’s character. The film is produced by Veer Reddy M and directed by Kranthi Kumar CH.

Maa Vande will trace Modi’s journey from his humble beginnings to becoming India’s leader. It will also focus on his strong bond with his mother, Heeraben Modi, who inspired him throughout his life. The makers promise a grand cinematic experience with high-quality visuals, advanced VFX, and a skilled technical team.
Cinematographer KK Senthil Kumar (known for Baahubali and Eega) will handle the visuals. National Award-winning editor Sreekar Prasad will manage editing, while production designer Sabu Cyril will design the sets. King Solomon will choreograph action sequences, and music composer Ravi Basrur (known for KGF and Salaar) will create the score. Maa Vande will release across India in multiple languages, including English. The release date is yet to be announced.
Unni Mukundan shared the first poster of Maa Vande on Instagram, announcing that he will play Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the upcoming film directed by Kranthi Kumar CH. He recalled growing up in Ahmedabad, knowing Modi as the Chief Minister during his childhood, and later meeting him in April 2023.
Mukundan said portraying Modi is both overwhelming and inspiring. He explained that the film will explore not just Modi’s political journey, but also the man behind the leader. It will also focus on his deep bond with his mother, who shaped his character.
The actor added that two words from Modi have stayed with him through life’s challenges: “Jhookvanu Nahi,” meaning “Never Bow Down.” He said these words have been a source of strength for him.
