Ayushmann Khurrana and Rashmika Mandanna’s Thamma saw a minor drop in earnings on its second day at the box office. After a strong opening, the sixth film in Maddock’s Horror Comedy Universe earned Rs 18 crore on Day 2, taking its total domestic collection to Rs 42 crore.
The film also stars Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Paresh Rawal. On Wednesday, its Hindi occupancy was 25.97%. Morning shows were slow at 10.21%, but attendance rose sharply in the afternoon to 29.47%. Evening and night shows stayed steady at 31.96% and 32.25%. Delhi-NCR had the most shows at 1,420, but a lower occupancy of 22.25%. Mumbai followed with 1,028 shows and 29.75% occupancy. Across India, Thamma ran more than 5,700 shows.
Thamma Box Office Collection 2: Much Lower Than Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, Stree 2
Despite the strong start, Thamma trails behind other big horror comedies. Stree 2, the biggest hit in the Maddock Horror Comedy Universe, earned Rs 31.4 crore on Day 2 and Rs 91 crore in two days. Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 made Rs 72 crore in two days, putting Thamma nearly 58% behind. However, the film did outperform earlier Maddock films like Bhediya (Rs 9.57 crore) and Munjya (Rs 7.25 crore).
Comparing with other 2025 releases, Thamma is behind Housefull 5 (Rs 31 crore), Saiyaara (Rs 26 crore), Salman Khan’s Sikandar (Rs 29 crore) and Aamir Khan’s Sitaare Zameen Par (Rs 20.2 crore). But it has done better than Ayushmann’s Dream Girl 2, which made Rs 14.02 crore on Day 2. Experts see Thamma as a possible comeback for Ayushmann, who returned after a two-year break following a string of underperforming films.
The coming days are important. The film faces competition from Kantara Chapter 1, which is still doing well in its third week, and Harshvardhan Rane’s Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat, which is showing promise despite a limited release.
