Zubeen Garg Death: Assam CM Confirms It Wasn’t Accident But A ‘Clever’ Murder, Says The Purpose Behind His Killing Will Shock People

Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma has confirmed that Zubeen Garg’s death was a “plain and simple” murder, not an accident. He says that the motive will shock the entire state.

Assam is in shock after Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said that the death of singer Zubeen Garg in Singapore was not an accident. He told the Assembly that the police are treating the case as “plain and simple” murder. His statement has raised new questions and increased the public’s curiosity about what really happened.

Sarma said the Assam Police understood this early in their investigation. As reported by India Today, he said, “The Assam Police, after a preliminary probe, was sure that it was not a case of culpable homicide, but it was a plain and simple murder.”

The Chief Minister also said the purpose behind the crime would “shock the people of the state.” He did not reveal more details. His words added more tension to a case already filled with doubts and emotion.

Seven Arrests, Hundreds Of Witnesses

A Special Investigation Team (SIT) is handling the case. Sarma told the Assembly that the SIT has arrested seven people so far. The team has also examined 252 witnesses. He said, “One of the accused killed Garg, and the others helped him. Four to five people are being booked in the murder case.”

Some of the people arrested are close to Zubeen. His manager Siddharth Sharma, festival organiser Shyamkanu Mahanta, and even his cousin, DSP Sandipan Garg, are all in custody. Their arrests have caused anger and confusion. The motive is still not clear.

Conspiracy Theories And Confusion

Since Zubeen’s death, many theories have spread across Assam. Some people think there was negligence. Others believe he was “poisoned.” This claim grew stronger after his bandmate Shekhar Jyoti Goswami, who was also detained, said that Zubeen’s manager and the event organiser had poisoned him. He also claimed that they chose a foreign location to hide the act.

But officials in Singapore have denied this. The Singapore Police said they do not suspect any foul play. They already sent the post-mortem and toxicology reports to Assam Police. These different versions of events have made the case even more confusing and have left people unsure of what to believe.

More Developments Ahead In Zubeen Garg Death Case

Sarma said the chargesheet will be filed in December. After that, the investigation will expand. “Then, the probe will be expanded to include negligence, criminal breach of trust and other aspects… the motive behind the crime will shock the people of the state,” he said.

The case around Zubeen Garg’s death is getting more complex with each update. Fans across Assam are waiting for answers. They want clarity and justice. For now, the biggest question remains the same: Why was Zubeen Garg killed?
