Chatha Pacha Review: Chatha Pacha – The Ring of Rowdies hit theatres on January 22, 2026, and fans are already talking about it online. The action-comedy mixes underground wrestling with Fort Kochi’s local flavour, offering a fun blend of sports drama and humour. Directed by debutant Adhvaith Nayar, the film is being praised as a fresh, entertaining addition to Malayalam cinema. However, it has gained a mixed response online.

Chatha Pacha Review: What Viewers Said Online

Hardcore wrestling fans have called Chatha Pacha a “love letter” to the golden era of WWE. Social media users noted that the movie captures the energy of old-school wrestling stars like Hulk Hogan and John Cena. Many shared nostalgic stories of practising finishing moves on siblings during the WWF era.

Arjun Ashokan stands out as Savio aka LOCO LOBO with his flashy outfits and over-the-top expressions. Fans on X (formerly Twitter) praised his transformation. Roshan Mathew plays Vetri, delivering a grounded yet physically intense performance. Critics called it his most “mighty impressive” role since 2022. Both actors’ wrestling sequences have been noted for their energy and realism.

The film’s technical side is also impressive. Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy’s Malayalam debut soundtrack, paired with Mujeeb Majeed’s background score, adds energy to the ring battles. Cinematographer Anend C Chandran captures the grit of underground wrestling while showcasing the colourful streets of Fort Kochi.

Superstar Mammootty appears as wrestling coach “Bullet” Walter Lopez, a moment that fans called “peak goosebumps moments.” While many saw it as a highlight that lifted the second half, some felt the writing for his character was weak. There are also surprise appearances by Mohanlal and Pranav Mohanlal.

About The Film
