Rohit Shetty House Firing Incident Raises Security Concerns
The firing has once again drawn attention to the safety of Bollywood celebrities. In recent years, several well-known figures have faced similar threats. For instance, actor Salman Khan’s Mumbai residence has seen multiple firing incidents in the past, with the Bishnoi gang claiming responsibility in several cases.
In Rohit Shetty’s case, no such connection has been confirmed so far. Police are examining whether the firing was meant as a warning or linked to any other motive. Authorities have said there is no immediate reason for panic but stressed that the matter is being taken seriously due to Shetty’s high public profile.
Investigators are currently reviewing CCTV footage from nearby areas and questioning locals to identify the assailants. More details are expected as the probe continues.
Rohit Shetty’s Work Front
On the professional front, the director is currently working on the biopic of former Mumbai Police Commissioner Rakesh Maria, with John Abraham playing the lead role. The film is reportedly titled Maria IPS.
Unlike Shetty’s usual action-packed, commercial style, this project is being made as a gritty, songless procedural drama. Filming is nearing completion as of February 2026. Shetty and John Abraham recently wrapped up intense interrogation scenes shot at real Mumbai locations. The film reportedly features a large cast of around 580 actors to accurately portray key events from 1985 to the 26/11 terror attacks.
The makers are aiming for an Independence Day 2026 release. After completing this project, Rohit Shetty is expected to begin work on Golmaal 5, with filming likely to start in late February.
