Raja Shivaji Box Office Collection Day 2: Riteish Deshmukh’s Raja Shivaji opened with promise at the box office, but Day 2 has raised fresh concerns. After a solid start on Friday, the historical drama was expected to gain momentum on Saturday. Instead, the film recorded a slight dip in collections, going against the usual weekend trend.
For most releases, Saturday numbers rise as more audiences head to cinemas. However, Raja Shivaji failed to show that jump. This early slowdown may create pressure on the film’s Sunday performance and upcoming weekday hold.
Raja Shivaji Box Office Collection Day 2
According to the latest figures from Sacnilk, Raja Shivaji collected around Rs 10.55 crore on Saturday. On its opening day, the film had earned Rs 11.35 crore, which means collections slipped on Day 2. With this, the total India gross collection has crossed Rs 23.77 crore, while the India net collection stands at Rs 21.90 crore after two days.
The drop may look small, but it is significant because weekend growth is usually seen as a positive sign. A Saturday decline often suggests that audience demand is not accelerating as expected.
Raja Shivaji was released alongside Ek Din, starring Junaid Khan and Sai Pallavi. However, the clash did not seem to affect Riteish Deshmukh’s film. While Ek Din underperformed, Raja Shivaji remained the stronger choice at the box office. The film earned around Rs 2.97 crore from Hindi shows and Rs 5.73 crore from Marathi shows, showing solid support in Maharashtra and regional markets.
Now, trade watchers will closely monitor whether the film can recover and post better figures on Sunday.

About The Film
Released on May 1, 2026, Raja Shivaji is a grand historical action drama based on the early life of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. The story follows his determined struggle to establish Hindavi Swarajya and challenge the powerful empires of the time. The film highlights Shivaji Maharaj’s famous guerrilla warfare tactics against the Mughal Empire and Adil Shahi forces. It builds toward the legendary confrontation with Afzal Khan, played by Sanjay Dutt.
DON'T MISS
Co-written and directed by Riteish Deshmukh, the actor also plays the lead role. The film aims to present a fresh cinematic perspective on the Maratha legacy. The film features a large ensemble cast. Abhishek Bachchan plays Sambhaji, Bhagyashree appears as Jijabai, Genelia Deshmukh plays Saibai and Vidya Balan is seen as Badi Begum. A surprise cameo by Salman Khan has also become one of the biggest talking points among viewers.
Produced in both Marathi and Hindi, the film has different runtimes. The Hindi version runs for around 187 minutes, while the Marathi version is approximately 195 minutes. Made on an estimated Rs 100 crore budget, Raja Shivaji is regarded as the most expensive Marathi film ever made. It features large-scale visuals and shooting at iconic locations across Maharashtra.
The real test now lies in Sunday collections. If the film manages a healthy jump, it can regain momentum quickly. But if growth remains limited, weekday collections could become a challenge. For now, Raja Shivaji has had a respectable start, but Day 2 has certainly added suspense to its box office journey.
