Jeep Compass SUV: Petrol version revamped to 1.4-liter Multiair turbo engine, diesel variant still available – all you must know

Jeep Compass SUV: At its Ranjangaon plant, Jeep India has temporarily halted production of the Compass SUV’s petrol version. Media reports have disclosed this. Additionally, this implies that the Jeep India inventory will no longer have an entry-level petrol vehicle. However, sales of the Compass Diesel will continue in the nation.

Know about the speed

Three variations of the Jeep Compass Petrol are available: Sport, Limited (O), and Model S (O). The 1.4-liter Multiair turbo engine produces 250 Nm of maximum torque and 160 Bhp of power. The vehicle originally came with a 6-speed manual gearbox, but up until recently, there was only a 7-speed dual-clutch gearbox (DDCT) option. Additionally, Jeep dealers no longer accept reservations for the Compass petrol.

Jeep Compass SUV: Engine

There will be a diesel version of the Jeep Compass. It has consistently been the most widely used engine choice for SUVs. With 168 Bhp of power and 350 Nm of peak torque, the 2.0-liter turbo diesel engine is anticipated to be a potent choice. This engine is coupled with a 6-speed manual and a 9-speed automatic gearbox, and a 4×4 system distributes power to all four wheels. Since the Citroen C5 Aircross, the Jeep Compass is the only mid-size SUV on the market with a diesel engine. While gasoline-powered versions of the Volkswagen Tiguan and Hyundai Tucson are also offered. In this class, the Tiguan is only available with a petrol engine. Whether or not Compass petrol will return in the future is unclear.

What will be the price?

Prices for the Jeep Compass in petrol ranged from Rs 22.07 lakh for the Sport trim to Rs 28.29 lakh for the Model S trim. The Sport trim of the diesel range starts at Rs 21.44 lakh, while the Model S 4X4 automatic costs Rs 31.64 lakh. These prices are all ex-Indian showroom.
