Apple Watch Series 8: The best smartwatch on the market, All you need to know before you go for one

Apple Watch Series 8: The Watch Series 8 feels similar to the Series 7 but has a few minor upgrades. It sits between the new Apple Watch Ultra, the top-end model intended for sports and outdoor activities, and the Apple Watch SE, this year’s entry-level model.  But is it worth upgrading?

This Series 8 Apple watch is also offered in 41mm and 45mm sizes, much like the previous model. The former is ideal for smaller wrists, while the latter is suitable for larger ones.

The watch features the same recognisable rectangular shape as the Apple Watch, with rounded corners and a smooth surface. Without raising the casing size, Apple boosted the screen size by over 20% last year. More screen space means more interaction space. But Apple’s compatibility with older watch bands, particularly those from the first generation, is what really stands out.

This year’s new features

The Watch Series 8 tracks many health-related metrics, including step count, workouts, heart rate, blood oxygen levels, and EKG. Two temperature sensors, one on the back crystal next to the skin and the other beneath the display, along with a new crash detection feature and low-power mode, are what are new onboard.

Sleep Tracking

Apple’s sleep app tracks nighttime awakenings and displays whether one was in REM, Core, or Deep sleep. The results are accurate. But unlike other fitness bands, it requires manual activation and does not automatically detect sleep. To assist people to unwind and get ready for bed, Apple includes a feature called Wind Down.

Apple Watch Series 8 Crash Detection

Car crash detection is another noteworthy aspect that needs to be mentioned. Apple claims the watch can use a new g-force accelerometer and an upgraded 3-axis gyroscope to detect if you are in a serious car accident. This feature is designed to automatically alert emergency contacts and communicate with emergency services when a real crash is detected.

Battery

Over time, the Apple Watch’s battery life has greatly increased. However, there are times when it is on your wrist but almost completely discharged. The new low-power mode will be extremely helpful in these circumstances. This mode would only deactivate specific battery-draining apps, unlike Power Reserve, when only time is visible.

Women Health

According to Apple, the wrist temperature at night is a reliable indicator of body temperature. Every five seconds while the user is sleeping, the integrated sensors take a wrist temperature reading and detect variations as minor as 0.1 degrees C. However, it takes the watch roughly five nights to establish the baseline wrist temperature before it starts scanning for nightly variations. Additionally, Cycle Tracking and Sleep Tracking must both be activated in order to receive ovulation estimates. The Watch then analyses wrist temperature data to identify the slight temperature spike that follows ovulation. Additionally, by combining cutting-edge algorithms with logged cycle data, it calculates the day ovulation probably took place.

The estimates are calculated during the course of around two cycles. Additionally, Apple claims that the results are simply retroactive estimations for improved family planning. All of this data is kept secure on the device for individuals who are concerned about privacy and data security.

The Apple Watch Series 8 is the finest on the market when it comes to focusing on overall health and fitness. It only functions with iPhones. If you are unfamiliar with the Apple environment, it is a great purchase. or are currently using a Series 6 or older model watch and intend to upgrade.
