The 1.5-liter diesel engine is adjusted to produce 113 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque, while the petrol engine can produce 118 horsepower and 170 pound-feet of torque. The 2023 Kia Sonet, on the other hand, is propelled by a 1.5-liter diesel engine mated to a six-speed automatic or the recently introduced six-speed iMT gearbox, a 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine mated to a six-speed iMT or a seven-speed DCT, and a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated, BS6 2-compliant, petrol engine.
