Top 5 Compact sedans under 8 lacs: From Kia Seltos to Tata Tigor, check the list here

Top 5 Compact sedans under 8 lacs: The sedan market currently has very few choices, which is owing to a shift in consumer preferences. With a substantial portion of the population preferring SUVs over these traditional three-box-shaped automobiles, manufacturers have begun to focus their resources on growing their lineup and populating the market with SUVs. As a result, sedans are progressively becoming a niche market. So, if you’re in the market for a sedan and have a budget of Rs 8 lakh or less, here are five possibilities to consider.

Top 5 Compact sedans under 8 lacs: Kia Sonet

The Kia Sonet is another example of an SUV that, although sharing a platform, has a greater trunk space than the other. The Sonet’s trunk area is 392-litres greater than the Venue’s. Because of Sonet’s premium status, only the base variant with the 1.2L normal petrol-manual powertrain fits into our price range.

Honda Amaze

The Honda Amaze is one of the more cheap cars, having a 420-litre storage. Only the Amaze petrol-manual E and S models are less than Rs. 8.0 lakh (ex-showroom).

Hyundai Aura

The Hyundai Aura has a 402-litre trunk. You may select between E, S, and SX models with the 1.2L regular petrol-manual engine for around Rs. 8.0 lakh. Among the available powertrains are the Aura S diesel-manual, which costs little more than Rs. 8.0 lakh, the S 1.2L regular petrol-automatic, and the S model with the CNG-manual powerplant. The turbocharged petrol-manual and diesel-automatic powertrains are still out of our price range.

Maruti Suzuki Dzire

The Dzire is the fourth sedan on this list, with a 378-litre cargo capacity. It is India’s best-selling car and the only one that routinely achieves 5-figure monthly sales statistics. In terms of price, three of its petrol-manual versions and one petrol-automatic variant cost less than Rs. 8.0 lakh (ex-showroom).

Tata Tigor

Another option to examine is the Tigor. Its 419-litre cargo area is also significantly greater than the Amaze’s. The Amaze has a 420-litre trunk space, but the Tigor’s hydraulic struts for the boot lid ensure that no C-hinge enters the cargo compartment. With the exception of the top-spec petrol-automatic and CNG-manual versions, all of its variations are priced under Rs. 8.0 lakh (ex-showroom).
