Toyota Kirloskar Motor has launched the eagerly awaited hybrid versions of its flagship SUVs in India today. The Fortuner and Legender are now available with the new 48V mild-hybrid system and advances Toyota into the new premium SUV space with technology.

With launch on June 2, 2025, booking is now available for the Toyota Fortuner Neo Drive 48V & Legender Neo Drive 48V, which are expected to start deliveries by the third week of June 2025.

Pricing of the Toyota Fortuner Neo Drive 48V starts from Rs 44.72 lakh and premium version Legender Neo Drive 48V starts from Rs 50.09 lakh (ex-showroom price, pan-India). Both of these are significant new entry points for Toyota into the electrified premium SUV space.

Toyota Fortuner Hybrid Neo Drive 48V: Key Features and Technology Upgrades 

The hybrid variants of Fortuner continue to use the proven 2.8-litre diesel engine which is now producing 204hp and 500Nm of torque, in addition to the neo 48V mild-hybrid system. The new Fortuner is packed with features like a 360-degree panoramic view camera, wireless smartphone charger, and the Toyota Safety Sense ADAS suite which will include automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, and much more.

The greatest difference is the 48V mild-hybrid system which provides a 5% improvement in fuel consumption over the various normal variants, with the hybrid version delivering 13.15kmpl vs. 12.65kmpl for the normal variants. Also, the integrated starter motor means the driving experience is very smooth,  which in turn makes it feel more refined especially in the city, bringing the legacy of the Fortuner along with all expected off-road ability.
