Bollywood actress Zareen Khan has found herself in legal trouble as a Kolkata court issued an arrest warrant against her in connection with an alleged cheating case dating back to 2018. The case stems from an incident where Khan was scheduled to perform at a Durga Puja event in Kolkata, but she failed to appear, leaving the organizers disgruntled. Subsequently, one of the event’s organizers filed a written complaint of cheating against Khan and her manager.
Khan neither sought bail nor appeared before the court
An FIR was lodged against both Khan and her manager, and they were summoned for questioning. Khan’s manager appeared before the court and sought bail, while Khan herself was required to do the same. However, Khan neither sought bail nor appeared before the court, leading to the issuance of the arrest warrant.
Responding to the warrant, Khan expressed her surprise and stated that she had no clarity on the matter. She emphasized that she believed there was no truth to the allegations and mentioned that she was consulting her lawyer for further information.
The controversy began when Khan was initially misled by the event organizers, who had promised that heavyweight ministers, including the Chief Minister of West Bengal, would be attending the function. However, upon arrival, Khan’s team discovered that the event was on a much smaller scale than indicated. Additionally, there was confusion regarding flight tickets and accommodation arrangements, which led to Khan’s decision to skip the event.
Khan also retaliated by filing a case against the event’s organizers, contributing to the legal back-and-forth surrounding the incident. Now, with the arrest warrant issued, the Bollywood actress faces legal proceedings in connection with the alleged cheating case from 2018.
