BCCI Announces Increase In Monthly Pensions

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has given a big gift to former cricketers and umpires. The board has made a huge increase in their pension. The increased pension will be applicable from July 1, 2022. The BCCI has given this information through a press release.

BCCI President Sourav Ganguly said, ‘It is extremely important that the financial well-being of our former cricketers is taken care of. Players remain players for life. It is our duty to stand by them as a board after their playing days are over. The umpires have also been unsung heroes and BCCI really values ​​their contribution.’

BCCI’s Honorary Treasurer Run Singh Dhumal said, “BCCI is what it is today because of the contributions of its former cricketers and umpires. We are happy to announce the increase in monthly pension, which is a great gesture for the well being of our former cricketers.

BCCI Secretary Jay Shah tweeted, “Glad to announce an increase in the monthly pension of former Cricketers (Men & Women) and Match Officials. About 900 members will take advantage of this benefit, in which about 75% members will get the benefit of 100% increase.”

Players or umpires whose pension was Rs 15,000, now they will get thirty thousand rupees. Those whose pension is Rs 22,500 will be given Rs 45 thousand. Staff having monthly pension of Rs 30000 will be paid Rs 52,500. The players or umpires who used to get a pension of Rs 37,500 will get Rs 60,000. Apart from this, the members getting the amount of fifty thousand rupees will now get a pension of 70,000 rupees.
