Delhi News: The Delhi Development Authority (DDA) has announced a new opportunity for homebuyers under its Jan Sadharan Housing Scheme 2025 (Phase III), offering up to 25% special discount on flats in the Economically Weaker Section (EWS) category in Narela. The authority stated that this initiative aims to make affordable housing more accessible for low-income families seeking home ownership in Delhi.
Delhi News: DDA Offers 25% Discount on EWS Flats
According to DDA, 691 additional EWS flats have been made available under this phase. These units are located in Sectors G7/G8 and A1–A4 in Narela, and bookings officially opened on January 27, 2026. Officials emphasized that the flats are available in limited numbers, urging interested applicants to apply early to secure a unit.
DDA aims to reduce financial barriers for economically weaker sections
The housing authority highlighted that the discounted pricing is part of its broader strategy to promote inclusive urban development and ensure that affordable housing reaches deserving beneficiaries. By providing concessions in price, DDA aims to reduce financial barriers for economically weaker sections and encourage planned residential settlement in developing zones like Narela.
Authorities also noted that applicants can obtain detailed eligibility criteria, pricing, and booking procedures through the official DDA e-services portal. The scheme is expected to benefit first-time buyers and lower-income households looking for subsidized housing options in the national capital.
Officials said that Narela has been identified as a key growth corridor under Delhi’s urban expansion plans, with improved road connectivity, public infrastructure, and civic amenities gradually being developed in the region. The availability of subsidized flats is likely to accelerate population movement toward the area and support balanced urban growth beyond central districts.
DDA sources added that such housing schemes also help regulate unauthorized colonies and informal settlements by providing legal and affordable residential options. Urban planners believe that increasing supply in the affordable segment will stabilize property demand while ensuring that economically weaker groups are not pushed out of the city’s formal housing market.
