In the country’s capital Delhi, the heat has started showing its wrath in the month of March itself. The highest temperature of this season has been recorded in Delhi on Sunday. According to the Indian Meteorological Department, 38.3 degree Celsius temperature was recorded in Delhi’s Safdarjung and Lodi Road on Sunday. This is 7 degrees above the normal temperature.

At the same time, the maximum temperature in Pitampura area was recorded at 39.9 degree Celsius, which is around 40 degree Celsius. This is the record of heat in Delhi till then in the month of March. Experts say that Delhiites will not get relief from the heat for the coming 6 to 7 days. There will be a slight increase in the minimum and maximum temperatures for the next 7 days.

Earlier, while issuing a warning of heat wave and hot winds in Delhi, the Indian Meteorological Department had said that this time the heat has come ahead of time. At the end of March, there is a period of opposite cyclonic winds in Rajasthan, which became earlier this time. No Western Disturbance has also been active. Due to this, hot winds have started coming from the Thar desert and central Pakistan.

Due to dry air and clear skies, there is a record increase in minimum and maximum temperatures.

According to reports, in the month of March in Delhi, there was so much heat in 2013. In 2013, Delhi recorded a temperature of 40 to 42 degree Celsius in the month of March.
