Covid-19: India reports 18,795 new cases in last 24 hours

India on Tuesday reported 18,795 new Covid-19 cases, the lowest daily count in 201 days. With this, the country's overall Coronavirus tally has reached 3,36,97,581 cases, according to the health ministry’s updated data at 9.30am. With 179 more people succumbing to Covid-19 in the last 24 hours, the overall death toll has further climbed to 4,47,373.

The daily positivity rate - number of positive cases identified per 100 - stands at 1.42 per cent less than 3 per cent for last 29 days. The recovery rate stands at 97.81 per cent. Weekly Positivity Rate currently at 1.88%.

Less than 50,000 daily cases are being reported in the country for 93 consecutive days now, the union Ministry said. More than 56.57 Crore COVID-19 Tests conducted so far.

COVID-19 Vaccination Update:

India’s Cumulative COVID-19 Vaccination Coverage crossed the landmark of 87 Cr (87,07,08,636). More than 1.02 Crore doses administered in last 24 hours.

More than 84.70 Cr vaccine doses provided to States/UTs. More than 4.75 Cr doses still available with States/UTs to be administered. Over 42.83 Lakh doses are in pipeline.
