Covid Update Today: 701 new cases of Covid-19 reported in West Bengal

Concerns about Corona have increased after the new variant has come to the fore in the country. With this, the process of corona cases coming to different states of the country has not stopped. With the arrival of 701 new cases of Covid-19 in the last 24 hours in West Bengal on Saturday, the total number of people infected with Coronavirus increased to 16,14,152. At the same time, due to the death of 11 more patients due to infection in the state, the death toll increased to 19,450.

In fact, according to the Health Department of West Bengal, four in North 24 Parganas district, two each in Kolkata and West Bardhaman districts, while one patient each died of Covid-19 in South 24 Parganas, Hooghly and South Dinajpur. Along with this, 717 patients of Covid-19 have also been cured in West Bengal during 24 hours, due to which the number of people cured in the state has increased to 15,86,882. The number of active patients of Covid-19 in the state has now come down to 7,820.

In West Bengal, 37,180 samples were tested during the last 24 hours. However, a total of 2,02,22,744 samples have been tested so far. In such a situation, the rate of those recovering from the infection is 98.31 percent.

Significantly, in the month of October in Bengal, 805 new cases of corona were reported on Monday and 11 patients died. At the same time, there has been an increase in the cases of corona in the state after Durga Puja. Earlier on Sunday, 989 new cases were reported. At the same time, 974 cases were confirmed on 23 October, 846 on 22, 833 on 21 and 867 on 20.

During this, in view of the increasing cases of corona, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamta Banarjee has appealed to the people to wear masks properly. Mamta Banerjee said in a meeting on Sunday, “Please wear the mask properly. There has been an increase in the cases of Covid after Durga Puja. So, you must follow the COVID safety precautions, do not keep the mask hanging on your chin.”
