Delhi Air Quality Remains In Severe Category

Delhi air remained in the “severe” category for the fourth consecutive day, with the air quality index (AQI) reaching 402 at 4 pm on Sunday, according to the daily bulletin of the Central Pollution Control Board. The Average Air Quality Index (AQI) of Delhi stood at 405 in the last 24 hours. Along with this, the air remained at a severe level in the city of NCR, Faridabad. With the increase in wind speed from Monday, there is a possibility of improvement in the coming days, although in the next 24 hours the wind can reach the severe to very poor category. Because of this, the situation can get worse due to increase in air pollution.

The forecast of the journey is that due to the increase in wind speed for two days, there can be a reduction in pollution. However, this relief is only for two days. Pollution will increase from December 1 when the mercury drops and the wind speed decreases.

According to the SAFAR report, 12565 stubble burning incidents have been recorded from 30 October to 3 November. Due to this, the share of stubble smoke in pollution was only eight percent, while the pollution at the local level was 69 percent.

Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said that his government will provide financial assistance of five thousand rupees each to the workers affected by the ban on construction activities in Delhi and will also compensate for the loss in minimum wages.

Meanwhile, Delhi schools, colleges and other educational institutions and government offices will reopen on Monday, but the ban on entry of trucks other than essential services into Delhi will continue till December 3. The government has allowed CNG and electric trucks to enter.
