Commencing his tour in Patiala district, the minister conducted inspections of Mata Kaushalya Hospital and the newly constructed Nabha civil hospital, accompanied by the local legislator. He also visited the subdivisional hospital in Dhuri and the civil hospital in Sangrur to assess the requirements of the secondary healthcare centers. The findings will be shared with the Indian Medical Association (IMA) to develop an improvement plan. Dr. Singh stated that the renovation scheme involves establishing patient facilitation centers staffed by specialized personnel who will not only register patients but also facilitate their prescribed tests and medications.

Furthermore, the government will seek feedback from patients to enhance the quality of healthcare services. To ensure round-the-clock operation of emergency rooms in government hospitals, the recruitment of 550 doctors is underway. Efforts are being made to provide these doctors with a conducive work environment and better remuneration. Dr. Singh expressed concerns that while the previous government constructed new hospitals, they failed to adequately staff and equip them.

During his visit to Barnala civil hospital, Dr. Singh assured that the government would upgrade its infrastructure to meet the required standards.
