Sunil Kanugolu's biggest strength behind Congress's Karnataka win

Karnataka assembly election results are out. Congress has got absolute majority. In this election, Sunil Kanugolu had decided the way in which the leaders of the Congress party campaigned vigorously and the strategy that the party made. Earlier people only knew Prashant Kishor as an election strategist. The Congress had chosen Sunil Kanugolu to strategize for the party in Karnataka ahead of the assembly elections.

Congress strategy was prepared by Sunil Kanugolu

The Congress adopted a number of strategies this time in the Karnataka elections, including selection of candidates, study of voting behavior and preparation of the election campaign. Sunil Kanugolu has emerged as the new Prashant Kishor of the Congress behind the victory in the Karnataka elections, who as a Congress member designed the election campaign in Karnataka and helped the party win.

Joined Congress last year

Originally from Karnataka, Sunil Kanugolu grew up in Chennai and now lives in Bangalore. Sunil comes from a business family. He has worked with BJP, DMK and AIADMK before joining Congress. Had joined Congress last year after long talks with Rahul Gandhi and Sonia Gandhi.

Have worked with many parties

Sunil Kanugolu has worked with many parties earlier. He has also worked with the BJP in Karnataka. He worked with the Bharatiya Janata Party in the 2018 Karnataka elections during which the BJP managed to become the single largest party in the state with 104 seats. Prior to working with political parties, Kanugolu worked with McKinsey, a global management consulting firm.

Congress has won 135 seats

Congress has got absolute majority in Karnataka assembly elections. The party has won 135 out of 224 seats in the assembly. BJP has won only 66 seats. At the same time, JDS has won 19 seats.
