Telangana Government passes order to give job to brother of the deceased man in anti-Agnipath row

Hyderabad: The Telangana government passed an order on Friday to provide a job to the brother of the deceased, Damera Rakesh. He died after police personnel opened fire during the anti-Agnipath row when the protest turned violent at Secundrabad railway station on June 17.

As per the educational qualification Damera Ram Raju, elder brother of Damera Rakesh should be appointed under compassionate grounds, a Government order (GO) said on Friday.

The order stated that the Warangal district collector will take the necessary action immediately. The violent protest had erupted against the centre’s Agnipath scheme at the Secunderabad railway station on June 17.

On June 17, Cheif Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao announced Rs 25 lakh ex-gratia to the kin of the deceased. The Minister also announced a government job to a family member according to the educational qualification, he said while expressing shock and compassion towards the death of Rakesh.
