Aditya Dhar’s Dhurandhar 2 The Revenge was released in India and several international markets on March 19, 2026. However, the film has not been released in Pakistan because Indian movies are still banned there. Despite the ban, the Ranveer Singh starrer is being watched in the neighbouring country through pirated versions.

According to posts on social media, many people in Pakistan managed to watch the film at home. The situation quickly went viral online and triggered strong reactions from users.

Pakistanis MOCKED For Watching Dhurandhar 2 The Revenge Via Piracy Amid Ban

The controversy started after journalist and research consultant of the film, Aditya Raj Kaul, shared a post on X. He reshared a tweet by a Pakistani journalist who claimed he was watching the movie in Lahore at his house. Kaul wrote, “Sadly Dhurandhar – The Revenge pirated version has reached Pakistan today itself. Below is a Pakistani Journalist confirming the same and enjoying the film on his Home Screen. Pakistanis can’t live without Indian Cinema even if it’s about crushing Pakistani terror! (sic).”

Several users commented on the viral post and shared their views about the film being watched despite the ban in Pakistan. One user wrote, “Let them watch how India ghar mai ghus kar har bar marta hain and let a few more tv screens be broken.”

Another commented,  “It was for sure that the pirated copy will get circulated within the hours of release, As they can’t stay without watching it. After all, they also want to see their own reality.”

A third user said, “They just can’t live without Indian cinema, that’s the truth …..because they can never make a film so superior.”

One more joked, “Karachi today is ranked safer than Delhi. They should be grateful to Hamza Ali Mazari for cleaning up the city (laughs).”

Some Indian films are officially banned in Pakistan, but incidents like this show that the demand for Hindi cinema still exists there. Even the first part of Dhurandhar was watched in the country through pirated copies after its release.

While the piracy debate continues online, Dhurandhar 2 The Revenge has taken a massive start at the box office. The film collected Rs 102.55 crore on its first day in India. It also earned Rs 43 crore from paid previews, taking the total opening figure to Rs 145.55 crore, making it one of the biggest openings for a Hindi film.

Critics have given mixed but mostly positive reviews. Hindustan Times called the film a “roller-coaster ride” and praised Ranveer Singh’s strong performance. However, the review also mentioned that the world-building feels slightly weaker than the first part and the long runtime affects the pace.

The Indian Express was more critical and said the sequel feels slower, especially in the first half. News18 gave the film 3.5 stars and praised Singh’s intense screen presence but noted uneven pacing and weak subplots. Despite the criticism, many viewers have liked the film’s large scale, powerful background score, and patriotic tone. With record-breaking collections and strong audience interest, Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge continues to stay in the headlines for both its box office success and the piracy controversy.
