Kartik Aaryan has entered a new universe, and the new sneak peek video has left us talking. The actor has started shooting for his fantasy comedy Naagzilla, backed by Karan Johar. The film has gained attention for its quirky concept, but hype is not only about the storyline. A big box-office clash is also on the way in 2026.
Naagzilla will release on August 14 in 2026, a day before Independence Day. On the same weekend, Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Love And War will also hit cinemas. The film stars Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal. So, you can expect a massive face-off at the box office next year if nobody backs off.
Kartik Aaryan Begins Naagzilla Shooting With Blessings
Recently, Kartik Aaryan shared the update on Instagram as he celebrated one year of Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3. He posted a picture with a clapboard and wrote, “1 Year of #BhoolBhulaiyaa3 Day 1 of #Naagzilla Har Har Mahadev 14th August 2026.”
Now, a video from the sets has been shared by the makers. It showed a traditional muhurat puja to start the shoot. Kartik joined the ceremony along with Karan Johar. Sharing the video, Dharma Productions wrote, “We’re not just rolling…we’re slithering into the world of #Naagzilla! Day 1 was filled with laughter, blessings, positivity and too much ph’n!”
Reacting to the video, a user wrote, “Hope vfx cartoon jese na ho.”
Another user joked, “Isme ekta kapoor ki nagins ka bhi cameo ho to Or majja ajay.”
A third user commented, “Can we get Shraddha pls as the heroine.”
More About Naagzilla
The film is directed by Mrighdeep Singh Lamba, who is known for the Fukrey franchise. Kartik wore a simple white shirt on his first day. He looked relaxed and happy. In the film, he plays Preyamvadeshwar Pyare Chand, an ichchadhaari naag (a shape-shifting serpent). The genre is fantasy with a fun twist.
The team announced Naagzilla with a motion poster earlier this year. Kartik shared it and wrote, “Insanon wali picharein toh bahut dekh leen, ab dekho naagon wali pichchar #Naagzilla – Naag lok ka Pehla kaand…. Funnn phailaane Aa raha hu main, Preyamvadeshwar Pyare Chand… Naag Panchami par aapke nazdeeki Sssssinemas mein.”
The big clash here has already become a top topic in Bollywood circles. Love And War is one of the most awaited films of 2026, especially with Bhansali and a strong star cast. On the other side, Naagzilla brings a fresh genre, humour and a young fan base.
Naagzilla is Kartik’s second film with Dharma Productions after Tu Meri Main Tera, Main Tera Tu Meri. That film will be released on Christmas 2025. If Naagzilla performs well, it could turn into a franchise. Reports also say Ravi Kishan is part of the cast, though the makers have not announced names officially yet.
