Sushant Singh Rajput case: CBI records actor’s flatmate, cook’s statement

The mysterious Sushant Singh Rajput death case has been handed over to the Central Bureau of Investigation(CBI) now. On Sunday, the CBI began recording statements of Sushant’s housemate Siddharth Pithani, house staff member Dipesh Sawant and cook Neerja Singh in Mumbai’s Santacruz.

As per the report of Times now, the three were called in for another round of investigation at the DRDO guest house as CBI team found differences in their previous statements.

Pithani and Singh are the main witnesses who were present in the house at the time of actor’s death.

“Both Pithani and Singh were inside the house and only they can reveal the entire sequence of events necessary to find out what happened between June 13 and June 14 when Sushant was found dead,” Hindustan Times quoted a person familiar with the probe as saying.

Pithani and Singh’s questioning comes a day after a team of CBI officials and forensic experts visited Sushant’s Bandra home and reenacted the sequence of events before he was found dead.

According to various media reports, Rhea Chakraborty and her brother Showik Chakraborty, who were among six accused in KK Singh’s FIR in Bihar, will also be quizzed bu the CBI soon.

BJP MLA Neeraj Kumar Singh Babu, the cousin of Sushant Singh Rajput, on Saturday said the investigation by the CBI is going in the right direction while adding Pithani and actor’s friend Sandeep should be arrested by the CBI.

“CBI investigation is going in the right direction. We are hopeful that the guilty will be caught. Siddharth Pithani should definitely be arrested. When we went for the last rites of Sushant, we saw there was no sadness apparent on Pithani’s face. I am suspicious of his activities. He used to be a colleague of Sushant,” Bablu said.

Meanwhile, Sushant’s cook Neeraj Singh, in his statement to Mumbai Police, allegedly said that a couple of days before the actor’s death, he had rolled some marijuana cigarettes for the actor. When Neeraj checked the box on June 14, after the actor’s death, he said that he found it empty.

He said, “In April 2019 I worked as part of housekeeping staff. I came to work from reference from another known person of Sushant Singh Sir. I got the job here. I fell ill and then I left work. Then again, I joined back after few days. In May 2019 itself, Sushant’s manager, Samuel Miranda, contacted me and called me back to work.

He had also mentioned that sometimes he would hear strange noises in the house even when no one was around and Sushant was asleep.

“Sushant sir would party once or twice every week with Anandi, Rhea, and Ayush at home. He would consume liquor and Marijuana cigarettes during those parties. Samuel Jacob would roll the joints for Sushant sir. Sometimes I would roll the joints for him. Before Sushant sir committed suicide, I rolled the marijuana cigarettes for him for three days which were kept in a cigarette case in a cupboard near staircase. After Sushant sir’s suicide, I saw that the marijuana cigarettes box was empty.”

“Sir was not keeping well since past five to six months. I feel that was the reason that he committed suicide,” he added.
