Thamma Advance Booking: Ayushmann Khurrana and Rashmika Mandanna’s new film Thamma has opened advance bookings on a strong note. The early response looks good, but the film has a long way to go if it wants to match Stree 2’s record-breaking pre-sales, according to Sacnilk.
Thamma Advance Booking: Can It Break Stree 2’s Pre-Sales Record?
Within just a few hours, Thamma sold over 6,000 seats across popular theatre chains like PVR and INOX. By 2.45 pm today, Sacnilk reported that around 30,000 tickets had already been sold. The start is decent, but experts believe the film needs a major jump in bookings over the next two days to get closer to Stree 2’s huge numbers.
Earlier this year, Stree 2 created history with one of the biggest pre-sale openings for a Hindi film. Directed by Amar Kaushik, it sold about 8.24 lakh advance tickets and earned Rs 23.36 crore across national chains (as per Sacnilk). Those figures set a very high bar for upcoming films in the same genre.
Right now, Thamma’s ticket sales are far behind that mark. Selling 30,000 tickets is a good start, but the difference between the two films is still massive. To catch up, Thamma would need a big boost in the final days before its release.
More About The Film: Plot, Cast And BO Prediction
Still, there’s plenty of hope. The film releases right after Diwali. It also enjoys a five-day extended opening, which could help push collections higher. Trade experts say strong word-of-mouth and good reviews could trigger a last-minute booking rush.
Produced by Maddock Films, Thamma is the newest addition to the Maddock Horror Comedy Universe (MHCU). Unlike Stree and Bhediya, this one takes a darker, mythological route with vampires at its core. The story follows Alok, played by Ayushmann Khurrana, who enters a world of supernatural secrets after meeting Tadaka, portrayed by Rashmika Mandanna. Tadaka is linked to an ancient cult that worships vampires. Things take a terrifying turn when Alok encounters Yakshasan, played by Nawazuddin Siddiqui.
The film also features Paresh Rawal in a major role. It is directed by Aditya Sarpotdar, known for Munjya, and has a runtime of around 2 hours and 30 minutes. Reports suggest that Thamma is one of Maddock’s biggest productions to date.
As for its box office prediction, experts expect Thamma to open at Rs 20–30 crore on Day 1 if advance bookings pick up. Over the five-day festive window, it could earn around Rs 50–60 crore in India. With good reviews and strong audience buzz, crossing the Rs 100 crore mark seems possible.
While beating Stree 2’s pre-sale record may not happen, Thamma is still shaping up to be one of the biggest festive releases this Diwali.
