Another shocking news of the year. Tamil television actress VJ Chithra of Pandian Stores fame has reportedly committed suicide. The actress was just 28. It has come as a huge shock for everyone in the Tamil industry.
As per the report, Chithra recently got engaged to businessman Hemanth.
According to reports, Chithra had wrapped up shooting at EVP Film City on Tuesday at around 2:30 am after which she returned to the hotel where she was staying with her fiance Hemanth.
In his statement to the police, Hemanth has claimed that Chithra told him she was going for a bath soon after she returned from the shoot. However, when she didn’t come out for a long time and nor did she respond to the knocking on the door, he said. That’s when Hemanth called the hotel staff to open the door with a duplicate key. Upon opening the door, Chitra was reportedly found hanging from the ceiling fan.
VJ Chithra has worked as a presenter on various TV channels in the Tamil industry. She was currently seen in Pandian Stores serial.
The actress had earned a huge fanbase through her role as Mullai. Also, she was an avid social media user and used to entertain the fans with her endless beautiful photos and posts.
Just few hours before her death, Chitra had shared pictures of herself from a photo shoot on her Instagram page.
The actor’s death has left her fans in despair. Her fans have taken to the internet to mourn the loss.
