A jar of Chyawanprash priced at Rs 1.5 lakh can shock anyone. Most people buy Chyawanprash for a few hundred rupees. But Vaidban Ayurved Bhawan has created a premium version that has become a major talking point online. Many are now wondering why it costs so much and whether its benefits justify the price.
According to the official website, the product is called Vaidban XN-Prash Gold, and it costs around Rs 1,38,105 for 1 kg. It is not a regular immunity booster. The brand makes it in very small batches and markets it as a luxury Ayurvedic product. Each jar contains pure gold leaf, which is one of the biggest reasons behind the high price. The company says the gold supports vitality and offers “anti-ageing excellence.” Rare and costly herbs also add to the premium pricing.
In an old interview, founder Subhash Goyal shared how this special Chyawanprash was created. The founder of the brand was asked, “Is it true that you made a Chyawanprash worth Rs 1.5 lakh?”
He replied, “Yes, 1 kilo Rs 1.5 lakh… Rs 1.48 lakh… Rs 1,48,000 for one kilo. Our Vaid ji added such ingredients that we ended up spending an entire kothi on the process.”
When asked how such an expensive jar should be stored, he simply said, “Normal… normal… normal.”
Goyal also admitted he was worried about the price. “I told Vaid ji, ‘You will get me into trouble. Who will buy something this expensive?’”
But the Vaid was confident. He said, “The man who drinks a Rs 5,000 bottle at night will want this only. If he does not eat this in the morning, he won’t feel right.”
Why Is It So Expensive?
Subhash Goyal explained the health benefits confidently. He said, “Its biggest benefit is that in your life, your Haemoglobin level will never be low, your BP will not drop, and your BP will not go high. Your brain will be sharp, your eyesight will be sharp.”
Compared to this version, regular Chyawanprash brands are much cheaper. Even Vaidban’s own “Special Power Plus” costs Rs 16,434 for 1 kg. But XN-Prash Gold is nearly ten times the price. The brand says this cost comes from rare herbs and something they call ‘Golden Shakti,’ which they claim supports deep immunity and long-term wellness.
How Does It Compare To Regular Chyawanprash?
Traditional Chyawanprash is already linked to better immunity, improved digestion, and stronger respiratory health. Many modern studies also support these benefits. Vaidban says their premium version enhances these effects with powerful ingredients like Amla, Ashwagandha, and Shatavari. However, the role of gold leaf still lacks strong scientific evidence.
This Rs 1.5 lakh Chyawanprash is clearly made for a niche audience (people who love luxury wellness products). For most households, a regular or mid-range Chyawanprash offers more than enough health benefits without such a massive price tag.
