India has reported 1,260 new cases of Covid-19

India has reported 1,260 new cases of Covid-19 and 83 deaths in 24 hours, the Union health ministry said on Saturday. The active caseload in the country has declined to13,445, while the recovery rate stands at 98.76%.

West Bengal recorded 41 fresh Covid-19 cases on Friday, taking the tally to 20,17,389, a health department bulletin said. Delhi reported 131 fresh Covid-19 cases with a positivity rate of 0.57 per cent and one death.

The union territory of Puducherry continued to remain coronavirus-free as no fresh cases were reported in the last 24 hours and the number of active cases remained nil, a senior health department official said on Saturday. No fresh fatalities were recorded in the last 24 hours (ending 10am) on Saturday and the death toll remained at 1,962, director of health G Sriramulu said in a release.

Over 184.52 crore vaccine doses have been administered so far in the country, according to the Co-WIN dashboard. More than 15.66 crore balance and unutilized COVID-19 vaccine doses are still available with the states and Union Territories (UTs), informed the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare on Saturday.

India’s COVID-19 vaccination coverage has crossed 184.52 crores on Saturday, as per the provisional reports by 7 am, said the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.

The ministry informed that this record has been achieved through 2,20,93,346 sessions of vaccine administration.
