A rising blood pressure often means the end of the world. If the blood pressure spikes to 150/90, the condition gets unbearable. With pounding head, ringing ears, and a dizzy body, you know that anything dangerous can happen to you.

If this feeling is not new to you, know how to reduce it. Doctors are here for help with a new set of remedies to control blood pressure instantly as it spikes.

Doctor Shares Simple Ways to Lower Blood Pressure

In a quick Instagram reel, health evangelist and organic chemist Dr. Adrian Hale suggests four useful times to reduce extreme blood pressure spikes. Following these steps will relax your blood vessels and improve blood circulation immediately.

  1. Hot Foot Bath: Take an immediate hot foot bath. The warm water will instantly dilate your blood vessels in your feet. This will flow down the blood towards the legs, causing immediate pressure drops. A 10-minute hot foot bath will be enough.
  2. Apple Cider Vinegar Compress: Moistening a clean cloth with apple cider vinegar and pressing it on the soles for 10 to 15 minutes will offer similar results. Though not backed with much scientific data, this remedy reportedly relieves many high blood pressure patients.
  3. Deep Breathing Routine: Slow and steady breathing will immediately activate the parasympathetic nervous system. This will calm stress-related BP spikes and relieve your heart from immediate danger. With 5 minutes of deep breathing, you can feel the difference.
  4. Herbal Infusion for Relaxation: herbal infusions of lemon balm, hawthorn, and valerian can give visible results in 20 minutes. High BP patients can prepare and have the warm mixture to balance their blood pressure numbers.

Common Lifestyle Habits That Quietly Raise Hypertension Risk

High blood pressure, apart from your genetics, is directly linked to your lifestyle. Those extra salty snacks, sleeping fewer nights, extra coffee mugs, and cigarette counters all have their own role here. Besides, the increasing stress levels and inactive desktop jobs are making hypertension a door-to-door disease. While some habits are hard to reverse, some effects can be reversed with the above remedies.

When Does High Blood Pressure Require Immediate Medical Attention?

The initial blood pressure spikes can be managed with tips and remedies. But a persistent condition will definitely need you to stay on medicines and supervision. Patients with high BP need to be alarmed whenever they face

  • Persistent Headache: A continuous, severe headache that doesn’t subside can indicate dangerously high BP, requiring medical intervention.
  • Numbness: Experiencing numbness or tingling in your limbs could be a sign of a stroke or nerve damage due to uncontrolled high BP.
  • Difficulty Breathing: Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing can signify that your heart is struggling to manage the increased pressure in your blood vessels.
  • Chest Pain: Any chest pain, especially if it’s sudden or severe, should be treated as a potential heart-related emergency, often linked to high BP.
  • Vision Disparity: Sudden changes in vision, such as blurred or double vision, may indicate damage to the blood vessels in the eyes due to blood pressure.

These useful remedies may offer temporary relief and even drop down a sudden BP spike. However, to control BP and keep it under limits, you will have to change the concerning factors.
