Coal Shortage: In the midst of power crisis in many states of the country, important meeting at the minister’s house

Due to the shortage of coal in many states of the country, the electricity crisis has deepened. States are left with very little stock of coal. In such a situation, ensuring the supply for coal based thermal power plants is a big challenge. After which the Ministry of Power has come into action. A meeting is going on at the residence of Union Energy Minister RK Singh, in which arrangements are being discussed to deal with the shortage of coal.

Due to the shortage of coal, the country is heading towards a big power crisis. If this is not controlled soon, then the situation may worsen, after which the Ministry of Power has come into action. A meeting of representatives of private power companies and senior officials is being held at the residence of Union Energy Minister RK Singh. The representatives of BSEB and Tata Power and officials of the ministry attended the Power Minister’s residence regarding the shortage of coal in power plants.

There is only a few days of coal left in thermal power plants. In such a situation, many states have made it clear that if such a situation prevails, it will be difficult to ensure smooth supply of electricity. States like Delhi, Punjab and Rajasthan are facing power crisis. The Delhi government has clearly said that if the coal supply is not smooth, then the people of Delhi may have to face the situation of blackout.

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Saturday said the people of the national capital may face power crisis due to shortage of coal. Along with this, he urged the intervention of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to deliver coal and gas to the generating plants supplying electricity in the national capital. Delhi’s Power Minister Satyendar Jain said the crisis averted for two days after the gas supply at the Bawana plant was restored. He said there could be a ‘blackout’ in the national capital if power is not supplied by NTPC Ltd in the coming days. The minister also said that he feels that the crisis is ‘man-made’. Jain held a high level meeting with the officials of the power department and power distribution companies and discussed the issue and its possible solution.
