Delhi News: A security alert has been issued for New Delhi in anticipation of probable protests as the conflict between Israeli security forces and the Palestinian organisation Hamas intensifies, according to police. During Friday prayers, there would be a significant presence of Delhi Police officers on the streets. Additionally, the Israel Embassy and Jewish religious institutions have increased security.
Nations Heighten Security Amid Israel-Hamas Conflict
Following heightened security surrounding “potential Jewish targets” and “pro-Palestinian protesters” in light of the rising violence in Israel, several nations, including the US, UK, France, and Germany, came to this conclusion. France on Thursday prohibited all pro-Palestinian demonstrations in the interest of maintaining public order following Hamas’ brutal attack on Israel. The restriction is criticised for interfering with people’s rights to free speech and assembly.
High Casualties in Gaza, Evacuation of Indians from Israel
More than 1,500 Palestinians have died in Gaza as a result of Israel’s fierce retaliation after Hamas launched a surprise land, sea, and air offensive that killed 1,300 Israelis. Soon after the Hamas assault started, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu proclaimed a “state of war” and pledged to destroy Gaza. The initial flight under Operation Ajay, which landed in New Delhi today, evacuated Indian people who were trapped in Israel as a result of the ongoing fighting.
